COST: $15/door OR $12/Dress Code

The Hi-Lo Playboys were such a huge hit at our Belly Up Swing Matinee in January that we're bringing them down to the Firehouse as our featured LIVE MUSIC band this month. On Wed. Direct from New Orleans, Giselle is back in town for a special dance workshop and performance with Chance Bushman at the Wood Room, 3800 30th St. in North Park, on Mar. 5 & 6. On Fri. Mar. 5, Giselle and Chance teach an all-levels "Swing Rhythm and Social Dance Class" from 8-9:30p. Then on Sat. Mar. 6th, watch Giselle and Chance as the featured performers with the highly-lauded production "Olio the Show" from 8:30-10p.
Giselle will be perform a short vintage jazz number from "Olio the Show" tonight at the Firehouse at 10p. Please register with her if you are interested either the workshop or the performance or you can register online at giselle@keyofg.org.

*FIREHOUSE UPDATE* Yes, we're going to have an Amateur Jack'n'Jill Contest for swing dancers with LESS THAN 2 YEARS of Swing Dance experience. Signups begin at 8p. Partners will be randomly chosen by lottery at 9:30p. Contest begins at 10p. Judges tap out until there are 5 finalists left. Then it's a dance-off to a musical hodge-podge of Firehouse Dance Favorites. Audience chooses the winner.
1ST PRIZE: FREE entry to ALL classes/dances in MARCH for the winning pair including our ST. PADDY'S DAY HOEDOWN with the HI-LO PLAYBOYS on Wed. Mar. 17th!

That's right, our favorite Swing Diva, Whitney Shay, will sing a couple of tunes with the Swingin' Kings this Sat. Feb. 20th. Whitney can usually be found singing standards with her popular Jazz duet, Shay La Vie, but this will be her singing debut with a Full-Fledged Swing Band.

Also, the Swingin' Kings band leader, Jimmy Woodard, just informed me they're adding a HORN SECTION for this Saturday's dance. Folks, we're going all out for our FINAL swing matinee at the Belly Up. FREE Swing Lesson at 3:15p. The Swingin' Kings play until 6p. $10. 21-and-up.
