FUN & FANCY CHARLESTON VARIATIONS with Meeshi and Sarah

Wanna swing dance just like in the movie "Swing Kids"? Then come to our special, 1-hr Partner Charleston Intensive at the Firehouse this Wed. July 15th from 7-8p. Meeshi Anjali, with guest instructor, Sarah Sullivan from Tanzania, will teach some cool variations and transitions on the four main Partner Charleston steps (Side Charleston, 20's Charleston, Hand-to-Hand Charleston and Tandem Charleston). Pre-requisites: Familiarity with the Charleston Basic and East Coast Basic. $15/adults, $10/students (includes FREE admission to the Firehouse Dance).

ABOUT MEESHI: Meeshi Anjali has studied extensively with some of the best Lindy dancers in the world, and continues to broaden his movement studies through learning Salsa, Argentine Tango, Afro-Cuban folkloric dance and Vinyasa Yoga. He is always eager to share his deep passion for partner dancing with dancers of all levels.

WORKSHOP #1: COLLEGIATE SHAG BASICS & BEYOND

Anyone fancy a Shag? If you've ever seen cartoons which show dancers pressing their faces and torsos together while their feet move madly underneath them...that's Collegiate Shag. In these all-levels Shag workshops, David and Tammy will introduce you to the basic steps of one of the most popular swing dances of the 1930's.

COST: $15/1-wk, $25/2-wks (held on Wed. Dec. 2 & 9)

WORKSHOP #2: SLOW SWING DANCING FOR COUPLES

Bring out the ROMANCE in your DANCE! After years of helping wedding couples with their first dances, I've learned that couples don't really want to learn dance steps as much as they want to feel connected and express their love for each other on the dance floor. In these beginning level workshops for couples, Meeshi and friends will show you how SWAY, TRAVEL, TURN & DIP in an easy, fluid, connected way to maximize your enjoyment dancing with your beloved partner or good friend.

COST: $25/couple/1-wk, $40/couple/2-wks (held on Wed. Dec. 2 & 9)
NOTE: You must come with a partner. We will not rotate partners in class.

Classes are not-progressive, you may drop-in at anytime!
